It begins! A story

Hey families! This is the story of our property. I realize that you won't be able to be there everyday, but Josh and I thought it would be fun to show you a progression of the events that have moved this house project forward.

Let's recap our story:


We got the property on March 1st, 2011: Trudging through the snow, we surveyed our dreams and ideas. The house spot we choose that day was where it stands now (partially complete as it is).

Just as a note, we will be taking one photo from each set from a designated spot so you can see it as it grows.... hopefully :)

In early August 2011, Brian Allan came out with the backhoe, and began making our road and septic system. We were super excited to see progress start, but were leery about the timing.... We were hoping to move in by summer 2012....

But the winter came and went, and we were still in our apartment. Fast forward to May 28th, 2012, with a contract signed and everything in place, we started the real work!

June 1st....

Now you can really see how fast they got that framing up!
Being warned that framing goes up quick!  Still, being able to stand in the house and see what is what was super exciting. After a year and a half of dreaming where things will be, we got to walk through it!

Above you can see the sauna's little accident... that's okay, we can fix it.... It will still cost us less than buying! Right now it is being used as a tool shed for the workers. They are happy to have it.
